After growing up on a farm in central Indiana, Dr. Klise attended Purdue University from 1981 to 1986, completing a degree in Biology. After a year in the real world he began his dental training in 1987 at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, completing it in 1991. Following a one-year General Practice Residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, he began his dental career in general dentistry in 1992 which he continued until June of 1997.
It was during these five years in general dentistry that Dr. Klise saw a great need to offer sedation and anesthesia for his patients. Recognizing that many of his patients either put off, completely avoided, or were incapable of having regular dental visits due fear, anxiety or physical challenges, he began looking for a solution. Finally he found dental anesthesia to be the perfect answer for his patients and pursued advanced training in dental anesthesia at MetroHealth Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio from 1997 to 1999.
Returning to his general dentistry roots, he split his time between private practice and academics in Indiana, providing sedation to patients undergoing dental procedures, practicing general dentistry, and teaching at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. Living in Indianapolis, Indiana he realized that the big city could only offer a busy, fast and pressured lifestyle. Longing for a slower, more quiet pace of life he, his wife and two boys found a place where the people were friendly, outdoor activities abundant, and scenery unrivaled. To be precise, they found Missoula, Montana where they have lived since July of 2007.
Today, Terry practices primarily in western Montana providing sedation and anesthesia services to both children and adults, including patients with special needs. He has found this to be the most rewarding and satisfying part of the practice of dentistry.
